Corbett
Corbett National park is known for its varied
wildlife, and as the site for the launching of Project
Tiger. Corbett
National Park was one of the nine tiger reserves created at the
launch of the Project Tiger in 1973. The original area of the
Corbett National Park was 323.75 sq. km. to which 197.07 sq. km.
was added later. In 1991, an area of 797.72 sq km was added as buffer area of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. It area
includes kalagarh forest division and Ramnagar forest division.
Ranikhet:
A serene and peaceful hillstation foreshadowed
by conifer forests and surrounded by snow clad
Himalayan
ranges from the Bhagirathi peaks in the west to Nanda Kot in
the east. Ranikhet also offers golfing at the 9 hole Army
Course besides being known for the orchards of Chaubatia and
Jhoola Devi Temple.
Kausani:
At a much greater height it offers a spectacular
300 kms wide view of the Himalayas and walks in the thickly wooded
area. Offers interesting excursions to the 12th century Baijnath
Temple by the Gomti River and to Patal Bhuvneshwar with its
enchanting underground cave temples.
Almora
Almora
(5800-6300 feet). After settling into the resort imbibe the
essence of another natural jewel of Kumaon. Take a short
hike and perhaps catch the sun disappearing beyond the horizon,
leave the sky ablaze as an artist's canvas. In the foothills of
the Himalayas with spectacular views, beautiful deep valleys, this
is a picturesque hamlet. It is an ideal place for an idyllic
sojourn in the lap of the mountains, amidst verdant forests,
terraced fields and emerald meadows.
Nainital
Within panoramic Kumaon lies the district of
Nainital. Its snow-capped peaks, verdant valleys, rolling meadows
and crystal lakes have beckoned lovers of nature since ages.
Dotted with lakes, Nainital has earned the epithet of 'Lake
District' of India. The most prominent of the lakes is Naini Lake
ringed by hills and named after the Goddess Naini. The first
recorded discovery goes back to the year 1841 when Mr. P. Barron
of Shahajahanpur was so moved by the scenic splendor of the place
that he had a house constructed by the name "Pilgrim Cottage and
gradually a township sprung up around the lake.
Itinerary
Day 01 - Kathgodam - Corbett (290 kms / 6 hrs) :
Morning pick up from the place of your choice and
drive to Corbett. Explore the Resort and its picturesque
surrounding in the afternoon. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 02 � Corbett
Day 03 - Corbett � Ranikhet (85 kms / 2.5hrs) :
After early morning tea/coffee with cookies drive to the gate of
Corbett for early morning jeep safari through Jim Corbett Tiger
Reserve. Later check out fro the hotel and drive to Ranikhet.
Overnight at the Resort.
Day 04 - Ranikhet - Kausani (120 kms / 3.5 hrs) :
Morning explore Ranikhet. Ranikhet is one of the most beautiful
and charming hill resorts of the hills of Uttarakhand. Afternoon
drive to Kausani and check in at the hotel. Standing 1890 mts.
above the sea level, Kausani is nature's own reserve. You can
enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayas and serve as the
romantic gateways
Day 05 - Kausani - Almora :
Sight seeing at Almora. Overnight at the Hotel
Day 06 - Almora - Nainital (130 kms / 3.5 hrs) :After breakfast drive to Nainital. Evening enjoy boat ride at
Naini Lake. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 07 - Nainital : Morning enjoy city tour of
Nainital. Nainital is a glittering jewel in the Himalyan necklace,
blessed with scenic natural spledour and varied natural resources.
Dotted with lakes, Nainital has earned the epithet of 'Lake
District' of India. Overnight at the Hotel
Day 08 - Nainital � Kathgodam (40 kms. / 1.5 hrs.) After
break fast sight seeing at Nainital. Evening time drop at
Kathgodam.
