Uttarakhand journeys

See more of Uttarakhand without trying to do all of it at once.

The best route depends on the month, entry point, number of nights and the kind of mountain experience you want.

Choose a part of the state

Start with a region, then make the route yours.

These are planning zones rather than rigid packages. They can be shortened, extended or combined when the road sequence makes sense.

Nainital & the lake district

Nainital, Bhimtal, Sattal and nearby hill roads work well for easy-paced family holidays, first-time mountain visits and short breaks.

Mukteshwar, Almora, Binsar & Kausani

A slower Kumaon route with orchards, forest, heritage towns, Himalayan viewpoints and stays that reward longer mornings.

Munsyari & higher Kumaon

For travellers comfortable with longer mountain roads, higher Kumaon opens into dramatic Himalayan scenery and quieter, more remote days.

Corbett & forest country

Wildlife and forest-edge stays can be combined with Kumaon instead of treated as an isolated two-night stop.

Rishikesh, Haridwar & Mussoorie

A flexible Garhwal introduction combining spirituality, river landscapes, hill-station time and practical rail or airport access.

Auli, Chopta & high Garhwal

High-mountain routes are built around season, road conditions, altitude and the amount of driving your group is comfortable with.

Sample direction

Kumaon at an unhurried pace

Kathgodam or Pantnagar → Nainital/Bhimtal → Mukteshwar → Almora/Binsar → Kausani, with Corbett or Munsyari added only when the extra road time suits the trip.
