Corbett
- Welcome to Jim Corbett National Park, the first
wildlife reserve of India, extending over an area of more
 than 500
sq km in the Himalayan foothills. Corbett national park was
established in 1936, as the Hailey National Park. In 1955-56 it
has changed to Ramganga National Park and finally Jim Corbett
National Park in the honor of legendary
hunter-turned- conservationist, best known for hunting man-eating
tigers and leopards in the Kumaon and lower
Garhwal in the 1920s.
Corbett National park is known for its
varied wildlife, and as the site for the launching of Project
Tiger. Corbett National Park was one of the nine tiger reserves
created at the launch of the Project Tiger in 1973. The original
area of the Corbett National Park
was
323.75 sq. km. to which 197.07 sq. km. was added later. In 1991,
an area of 797.72 sq km was added as buffer area of the Corbett
Tiger Reserve. It area includes kalagarh forest division and
Ramnagar forest division.
 Nainital -
Nainital
was
discovered by an Englishman named P. Barron in 1839. The glorious
gem-like lake and the virgin hills appealed to him so strongly
that he left a flourishing sugar business to settle here. And so
it began. First the holidaying English then the Indian maharajas
and then the Indian public. Nainital has never looked back as a
summer retreat since. The headquarters of the district by the same
name; Nainital is the largest and most popular hill-station of the
Kumaon region.
Itinerary -
Day 01 - Delhi - Corbett (250 kms � 6 hrs)
:
Upon arrival, meet and drive to Corbett. Explore
the Resort and its picturesque surrounding in the afternoon.
Overnight Stay.
Day 02
� Corbett : After early
morning tea/coffee with cookies drive to the gate of Corbett for
early morning jeep safari through Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve.
Rest of the day at leisure to explore the most
Scenic Resort of Corbett. Over stay.
Day 03 �
Corbett - Nainital (60 kms � 2 hrs) :
After breakfast drive to Nainital.
Overnight Stay.
Day 04
� Nainital : Morning
enjoy city tour of Nainital. Afternoon at
leisure to enjoy shopping at The Mall.
Overnight Stay.
Day 05 �
Nainital - Delhi (300 kms � 8 hrs) :
Today drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival, transfer
to the rly stn/airport for your onward journey. Drop at Delhi.
